Walking My Path of Passion in Music

This journey has been a wild adventure, with so many highs and some lows, I can’t explain it in words for you to simply understand. What I can say is you can’t walk a path of passion without growing intimate with God. My other friend says if you want to have a close relationship with God become an entrepreneur and start a business. My humbling moments have been realizing that if you decide to move in faith somehow God lights up the path for you. When you stand still, well God still sends his messengers to nudge you in the direction to take, and that sometimes even the bad moments you come across work together for your good in the end. In the short 5 years that I have been active as a musician, I have released 4 music projects with one obtaining a SAMA nomination. This year (2025) I had my first one woman Live Show. I did all of this as an independent artist. It has been a lot of work and a very humbling experience. These achievements don’t compare to amount of hours spent wading the thick mist of confusion trying to find clarity, direction of purpose, the hours spent learning and mastering guitar scales, guitar chords, vocal exercises, brainstorming and recording YouTube videos, etc.  What I do know about God is that He lives in me, and desires good things for me. God will never leave me nor forsake me, and that God has created me for such a set time as this, and my job is to simply trust.

Perhaps you too are going through the journey of walking your path of passion, the encouragement I can give you is, keep going, finding your community does make the journey easier, but trust in God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Drink water and try to have fun 🙂
